These kinds of stats are nonsense. If you tell most Hispanics that they are "not white," they'll look at you like you're crazy. The only way they can arrive at stats like this is by counting Hispanics as a separate racial group when in reality, they are about as separate as Americans of Italian, Greek, or other Mediterranean heritage.
What do you call an American of Hispanic heritage whose parents were born here and who doesn't speak Spanish? Answer? An American. They are only functionally hispanic on census forms and scholarship applications.

The census bureau has two white categories: “ white alone” and “white alone, not-Hispanic or Latino.” In 2019 the white alone category was 76.3%.That includes Hispanics/Latinos who also checked white. The “white alone, not Hispanic/Latino” category was 60.1%.
