Amid a new surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, Los Angeles on Wednesday moved toward requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccinations indoors at restaurants, gyms and other spaces.
The Los Angeles City Council voted to direct the city attorney to draft an ordinance requiring patrons to have at least one dose of the vaccine to be able to enter the indoor public spaces.
The motion, which was introduced by Council President Nury Martinez and Councilman Mitch O’Farrell last week, applies to restaurants, bars, retail establishments, fitness centers, spas, and entertainment centers like stadiums, concert venues and movie theaters.
It’s still unclear what the law will look like, and how it will be enforced.
The L.A. City Attorney now has to prepare and present a draft ordinance, which will then go back to the city council for approval.
“It’s our responsibility to protect the public, that includes protecting them from the unvaccinated,” Martinez said. “The decision to not get vaccinated doesn’t just affect you. We have kids under the age of 12 who are not eligible for the vaccine yet, and someone’s decision to not get vaccinated affects them as well.”
The city council meeting featured calls from several members of the public who expressed opposition to the motion.

Not sure about CA. but in NY only 30% of blacks have taken the shot. They really going to tell them they can’t eat at a restaurant?
They don’t. Little people don’t know how to handle power. They won’t give it up, America is going to have to take it back.
Do they need protection from the unvaccinated who have natural immunity as the result of having recovered from covid?
Vaccinated are “shedding” infecting the rest of us. That’s why were seeing a spike. They are also the ones who should be banned from public places. Put that in you pipe and some it.

California will have the chance to undo this by recalling Gavin Newsom and electing Larry Elder. The question is — will they do it?
I have to wonder if they will try to wait until after the recall election.
Many dems were were pro mask/lock down, even in leftist New England have been very skittish to even discuss new mandates. In CT, the Gov basically said, I want no part in this, and signed EO to permit cities/towns top mandate masks. So far only Hartford and New Haven, IIRC, have chosen to do so.
Got to be a way to get around it. What I love about this country is the ingenuity and inventive minds of the people. Nobody will succeed at keeping us down for long.
I loved the meme that said “There are 400 million guns in this country, if we were a problem you’d know it by now.”
There’s always a way.
you’d never know he was up for recall...

Americans for the longest time have the DNA to resist. From Revolutionary times to prohibition onwards, we come up with stuff to screw the establishment. I am SURE there are fake vaxx cards out there. Not that I’ve seen one (cough)
