A Texas GOP official whose social media posts include anti-mask and anti-vaccine rhetoric has died from COVID-19.
H. Scott Apley, who according to the Galveston News was a member of the Galveston County Republican Party and Dickinson City council, was 45 years old.

They did die. Our modern expectations surrounding mortality and quality of life are much higher. Alot of people walking around today who would have not made it this far in 1918 for any number of reasons. However the improvements in technology have been balanced by a vastly more mobile population that makes it harder to control a contagious disease.

They absolutely did die. And the period of time that I grew up in was a rare thing, per Mark Steyn, and I love that quote in one of his books but I would have to go find it...
Anyway the 50s to the 70s maybe were very unusual in the way we prospered and enjoyed life in the US.

Sadly he did die of Covid. His lungs gave up. He was on a ventilator. He was overweight and I’m sure it played a roll in him having bad health. But he was a great guy. He had a wonderful wife and sweet baby boy. He will be missed.

The media dutifully digs up and promotes every one of these stories 9most of which I think are pure fabrications). YET, not a single one of someone bragging about getting the vaccine and then dying. It’s almost as if there is an agenda being pushed.

Wrong; patients don’t want to be told they are fat. They don’t want to be told they need to eat better, they don’t want to be told to exercise more - what they want is a pill, and if they don’t get it, they find another doctor.
I work in the medical field (not a doctor) - you won’t believe the number of patients who will file a complaint against a doctor if they *dare* to note in their chart that the person is obese.
So fat Americans are getting what they ask for - eat whatever they want and find a doctor who will just write the scripts to lower cholesterol, low blood pressure etc. Its not a conspiracy of medical professionals - its a cadre of moronic patients who think if they just get enough pills they can eat/drink/smoke and do whatever they want. Medical professionals didn’t cause this problem - blame the drug companies and blame the food companies and blame the stupid people.

But with this slight difference: the unvaccinated are not going to be dying because of vaccine complications from an untested tech whose long term effects are unknown, since they are not dead virus vaccines that do have a long track record.
They are also, it turns out, not vaccines at all.
Remember strawman rhetoric asserting that things like ivermectin were not vaccines even though better informed commentators were trying to take pains to point out their function was to help manage symptoms giving people a better chance to recover?
Well, now that it is acknowledged that the non-vaccine “vaccines” do not stop people from getting sick or from being contagious BUT they benefit by helping to control symptoms and thereby increase survival rates (which were already very good) exactly how does that argument against using already existing and approved drugs hold water now?

Wrong. the death rate on a vent is about the same as the death rate on a vent from other causes of ARDS - about 25-30%. But you keep telling someone gasping for breath with low oxygen sats on maximal support to avoid ventilators. it’s about as astute as the rest of the medical advice I see around here
