Nice straw man try again. Sweden has the population of a medium city spread out over an area the size of an Eastern American state they have very low.population density. Like it or not Australia proves with no scientific doubt if you lock people down hard the virus cannot spread that’s just how airborne virus work. The fact that is works that way is really not up for scientific debate quarantine has worked for thousands of years. The Romans knew it worked in BC times. Should they be done is the only question and for a low fatality bug like the latest strain if SARS COVID II Delta there is little justification when effective vaccines are now widely available. That doesn’t change the fact you can absolutely stop an airborne pathogen with quarantine and or isolation. Stomping your foot and pitching an internet temper tantrum doesn’t change that fact. Like it or not Australia went the hard lockdown route and it worked for them until they let people fly in and contaminate them again. You can take it too the bank that if the original strain that hit China and Italy with 30+% deaths rates had spread far and wide hard lockdown like those in China would have been world wide. Fortunately the strain evolved to be much lower CFR early on and stabilized in the mid 1% range with first world health care access.

Yes but they’ll never be able to come out of lockdown for when they do the covid will go thru them as it inevitably will just like it did in the Dallas area. And even if they stop the viral spread for a while by draconian measures, they would have to isolate from the rest of the world...forever!
And to folks who are real big on cops wearing body cams: This is the downside. Any cop who’s disinclined to carry out an unethical and/or illegal order is going to get nailed for it by the people issuing that order thanks to that body cam.

The argument that Sweden is equal in any scientific way to Australia or The USA is the very definition of the Straw man fallacy. Sweden is a low population low density country. Sydney metro area with 5.5 million vs DFW with 6.5 million both over comparable areas is a valid comparison. NYC Tokyo and Mexico City all valid. Sweden vs Denmark valid. Paris vs Houston marginal at best paris has twice the density.
Absolutely right as soon as you open up your borders and let people flow amongst others any virus still circulating will roar back to it’s natural R0 number the only way to get that R0 under one is with immunity in the vector hosts this immunity can come from inoculation or recovery from active exposure. For a MERS,SARS I, smallpox virus all.had 30+% CFRs lockdown of the sick and potentially sick is imperative with loss of contact tracing and documented community spread then isolation not just quarantine is warranted. For a virus with a CFR in the low one percent it does not make sense nor is it justified to isolate healthy people. The two situations are drastically different. Given that the MRNA has demonstrated effectiveness against deaths to such a degree look at Texas for an example there is zero.justification for the kind if lockdown Australia is doing that doesn’t mean it won’t work in Australia it will until they open up again and let in more viral vectors so you only delay the influx. The only way to beat a airborne bioweapon is with synthetic inoculation over a massive scale get your population above the RT threshold needed to drop the replication rate under one and the bug dies off for lack of hosts. For a R0 of 5 which is low for the Delta var chicken pox is 6+ and the data leaked shows at least as airborne as the pox you need 90%+ with immunity for the RT to drop under one. That’s basic immunological mathematics well proven with other historical airborne pathogens.
It will go NOWHERE in Australia.
So if you are under 60 and not a diabetic and vaccinated you have an effectively zero risk of death ...
