Agree on the first part; that’s what all the evidence points to.

But the second part, I can’t disagree more. Each variant brings about the possibility of creating more problems. For example, Delta is resistant to antibodies against previous variants of SARS-CoV-2. The effect of this is both a decrease in the effectiveness of the vaccines we have an in the immunity of those previously infected. Now seeing about 1 in 6,000 who were previously infected with COVID-19 getting reinfected with Delta.

I would much prefer this be the last variant, we get a variant-specific vaccine out for it, everyone either gets vaccinated or infected once, virus runs out of hosts, virus dies. Just likes SARS2003 and MERS2012. I want the darn thing gone.

From what I understand, it’s not a vax. It’s more of a treatment which reduces symptoms. Therefore, Covid continues to spread. And mutate.

Remnants of the Spanish flu are still around.
