The term "Republican in Name Only" or RINO is flung around loosely, but it doesn't get more deadly accurate when the person involved is Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming.
Having gotten herself a spot on House speaker Nancy Pelosi's 9/11 commission, and declaring that she was "honored" to have gotten Pelosi's own invitation (kid you not), she decided to horn in on the very real rift between Pelosi and her own party leader, House minority leader Kevin McCarthy, over the committee personnel. That rift came when McCarthy yanked all five GOP nominations to the commission after Pelosi rejected Reps. Jim Banks and Jim Jordan as threats to the "integrity" of the commission, in an unprecedented move. McCarthy said Democrats don't get to pick and choose their Republicans for the commission.

She seems to have forgotten how these same people treated her father. Too dumb to realize she is being used.
I am pretty sure some GOPe:ers well entrenched in the establishment like Liz Cheney knew that the election was predetermined. However, I think they all thought that PDJT would act just like Nixon in 1960. To their dismay he didn't.
And not only did he try and fight through the courts and in the political realm, he amassed an incredible crowd in DC.
Even though the Capitoleum "event" at least partly was a set-up, it must have dawned on Ms Cheney that the MAGA people were very close to go from cold anger to hot anger, and not only were they very many, but unlike the Antifa/BLM crowd they knew who their enemies were.
What to her and many other GOPe people may have started as one of their many political games suddenly became much more serious.
Why hasn’t the Republican party removed Liz from the party?
