House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday announced she's rejecting two of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's picks for the House select committee to investigate the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
Pelosi said she could not accept McCarthy's recommendations of GOP Reps. Jim Banks and Jim Jordan.
"With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee," Pelosi said in a statement.
"The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision," the House Speaker added.

What should the Republican (so-called) leader do when 2 of his 5 picks are rejected?
1. Roll over like a puppy dog and accept alternitive selections by Pelosi & crew?
OR
2. State that the special committee is incurably biased and rescind nominations of all 5 Republicans and bar the seating of any non-democrat to the committee — insuring that it is seen as a partisan exercise. Maybe run a “shaddow” committee in parallel to interview others and develop a contradicting report.
Why not Jordan ? He’s one of the few who would stand against D lies.
And, why does Pelosi have veto power of R appointments ?
