We, as patriotic Americans who defend the Constitution, better HOPE that, should the public come to believe or realize that the election outcome was illegitimate, there is a way to put something legitimate in place ASAP.

Whatever it takes to establish a legitimate government needs to be done. Speeches, rallies, new laws, constitutional reinterpretation, constitutional amendments, replacement of officials by any means neccessary.

Otherwise, there’s a high probability that the illegitimate government will fall, and take our nation and our beloved constitution with it.

History is littered with the remnants of governments all over the world that collapsed when the people they ruled lost faith in legitimacy of those governments. Most of those collapses have been bloody, horrific affairs that ended with long term anarchy and death.

I’m writing this in July, when most of the people likely to be reading this have recently commemmorated live artillery barrages against living people as one government lost legitimacy in and around 1776. Those 18th century North American artillery barrages, the piles of dead, the privations and wounds and pain and terror and hunger and, in general, the presence of Phobos and Diemos and all their friends ... those were a historically very benign example of what happens when nations fall apart. Later, the people who took over and established a new legitimate government were a uniquely benign group who left us a republic which may never be recreated once it falls.

The horrors of America’s previous internal wars, and the rebuilding afterwards, were historically far more pleasant than the usual occurrences when people decide their government is illegitimate. Our next national breakup is likely to be far far worse.

Therefore, we all have an interest in establishing a legitimate government as quickly as possible should it become evident that the current government officials are frauds. Even fraudulent officials, should such exist, and even though they may not realize it, would be well advised to help establish a legitimate government ASAP. Allowing an illegitimate government to persist risks damage and death and destruction for all.

Nonsense along the lines of “well,there’s no pre existing laws to address this situation so we can’t do anything” needs to be repudiated. It seems that we, as a nation, might be on the verge of needing to create new laws and procedures PDQ, or, by inaction, create a situation in which we learn the bitter truth of the saying “inter arma silent leges.”
