S.Africa calls up army reserves in bid to crush looting

"All reserve members are to report for duty at first light tomorrow morning 15 July 2021 at their respective units," army chief Lieutenant-General Lawrence Mbatha said in orders issued overnight as the unrest entered its sixth day.

Too little, too late.

A friend of mine, born and raised in SA, now a US citizen, has been left horrified and weeping at what is happening. His friends in SA say communities are coming together, black and white,to defend their towns from massive waves of looters. Some are even flying in ammunition to defend their property and lives from this.

Some of his contacts liken it to the Visigoth invasion of the Roman empire.

And the government has done nothing.

Everyone lives behind iron bars…..even apartment dwellers have double door…..barred ones on hallway side so you can answer the door from the inside and still be protected.

Ramaphosia is just another functionary of the ANC group....he’s got a couple of corrupt elements of it lined up for land/farm distribution, and he didn’t count on the Zuma-team being in the middle of his mess...or for that matter the court system going to the extreme of jailing Zuma for non-cooperation with the corruption investigation.
