Anthony Fauci characterized the delta strain of the coronavirus as a "nasty variant" during an interview on Sunday.
Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Fauci said Americans who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus should be concerned about a spike in delta variant cases.
"It's very clear that this is a nasty variant. It has a much greater capacity of transmitting from person to person," Fauci said, adding the vaccines that are being used in America to fight the coronavirus "are working very well" and do protect against the delta variant.
"The bad news is that we have a very nasty variant. The good news is that we have a vaccine that works against it," Fauci said.
The nation's leading infectious diseases expert also voiced concern about what he called a "schism between some states and some areas that have a very low level of vaccination."
President Biden last week renewed a call for all Americans to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, saying his administration is prepared to be more aggressive in fighting vaccine misinformation and eliminating barriers to inoculation for all citizens.
"It’s never been easier, and it’s never been more important," Biden said. "Do it now for yourself and the people you care about, for your neighborhood, for your country. It sounds corny, but it’s a patriotic thing to do."
Thanks for the Ivor Cummins link. I've been following this guy for many years. He is brilliant and honest.
Delta variant is a runny nose. i.e. hay fever.
Thank you. I’m rather pleased with in, m’self...
Fauci IS a nasty stain!
Here he is again, trying to extend the pandemic. More fear mongering that he is putting out to continue his income. Everyrthing the clown has to say is meant to scare us. Try listening to Dr. David Martin instead. You will get a more down to earth idea of what is really going on.

Fauci needs to swim with the fishes
Follow the money and patents...
And for those upset that many died and had horrible experiences with the flu over the past few years, keep in mind that H1N1 never went anywhere its still here and still infecting people.
I second your thinking.
I’m not sure it is even ADE.
It could just be pathogenic spike protein disease. All those 100 trillion spikes in the brain, heart and lining of the lungs can’t be good for one’s lifespan.
Yes, that article gives both sides of the story. Here is the side you chose not to post:
“Sep 30, 2011 (CIDRAP News) – A new analysis of influenza outbreak patterns in several navies in 1918 suggests that the first and second waves of the pandemic were caused by “antigenically distinct” viruses, a conclusion that runs counter to some other recent studies that have tried to discern why the second wave was so much more deadly than the first.
A team of Australian and American researchers, writing in The Lancet Infectious Diseases, says its analysis suggests that those who were infected in the mild first wave, in the spring or summer of 1918, remained susceptible to infection in the deadly second wave in the fall, but were protected from death.
If this is true, “the two waves of infection were probably caused by antigenically distinct influenza viruses—not by one virus that suddenly increased in pathogenicity between the first and second waves,” says the report by G. Dennis Shanks, MD, of the Australian Army Malaria Institute, and colleagues.”
Besides, how do we know the “big” wave of covid wasn’t the second wave and the first was so mild as to fly under the radar (or dx as some sort of flu). It’s not like we ever got the straight story from China on any of it.
