CANBERRA, Australia — Sydney’s two-week lockdown has been extended for another week due to the vulnerability of an Australia population largely unvaccinated against COVID-19, officials said on Wednesday.

“The situation we’re in now is largely because we haven’t been able to get the vaccine that we need,” New South Wales state Health Minister Brad Hazzard said.

The decision to extend the lockdown through July 16 was made on health advice, state Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.

I have a bad feeling we are going to lockdown again in winter and why don't the people in Sydney stand against this crap?

They have had a year and a half to build facilities and train people to deal with any “surge”.

It not, then the Austrian people sbould be up in arms.

How many in Sydney have died from the Delta variant?

Are they going to lock down for every bout of sniffles that comes along?

WTF aren’t the Aussies buying large amounts of the Moderna vaccine. It’s not like we Americans are using what’s pouring off (millions of doses) the production lines.

They are liberals. It’s what they do.

They definitely need to ban automobiles—the death toll from auto accidents is now higher than Covid.

Granted, Australia is a small continent nation, so it is easier for them to isolate themselves from the rest of the world, but so far this year there have been ZERO Covid deaths in Australia, but 459 traffic deaths.

If they are concerned with saving lives, they should ban automobile travel.

My daughter lives in Sydney, not far from the epicenter of Bondi. She tells me that even Alice Springs, in the middle of the Outback, with a population of 15,000, is locked down. You could hardly be more isolated than that. She also tells me that the current epidemic came from a limousine driver who was infected by a foreign air crew he drove from the airport. Because Sydney does rigorous contact tracing by way of QR codes, they were able to determine that this single individual was responsible for over 900 subsequent cases, many traced to a hair salon he visited.

Over 900 cases, and not one single death.

How long can they remain so paranoid about "cases" that result in no fatalities?

Sounds like what is happening and I’d say it’s about to happen in the USA. CDC, white house, Facci all singing the same tune around this development.

Pure evil at work here.

They are afraid and the police will arrest you and you will be fined thousands of dollars if you do not comply.

US Marines help protect Australia stationed in Darwin.

What a disgrace.

Since it is still spreading then they aren’t in a true lockdown.

Masks, social distancing and lock-downs have been proven to not work in controlling viruses. But follow the Fauxchi-Science.
