Firstly, Henry Boothe Luce is rotating at 5000 rpm in his grave.
Secondly, these writers should lead the way and shut down the AC in their New York offices.
Maybe this is part of their plan, to take the summer off. If they take the summer off, no need for air conditioning in their offices. They wouldn’t think that way, would they?
And Claire is saying that America has passed the "awkward stage."
If a Time Magazine editor buys a $10,000 built-in refrigerator for his wife - or a whole kitchen upgrade - all those items have has an energy cost.
So does that vacation to the Hamptons by Time's writers.<
Liberals feel if there's more than one link between an item and a fossil fuel that it doesn't count. THEY ARE WRONG.
A trip to the Hamptons - the obvious: gas put in car. The 'not so obvious': profit from rent and all the stuff landlords buy and consume and drive... Same with the waitress tipped, the restaurant owner's profit AND how he spends that money ... on and on and on...

True Energy cost is correlated with how much money a person spends every year... buy an Alexa? You're paying a supply chain manager, a company exec in China, a shipping company, a container company and all their employees and employees vacations for their families and stock brokers etc etc etc.
TIME Magazine writers are PART OF THE ENERGY CHAIN... It makes as much sense to shut down all A's as to shut down all restaurants or book sellers.
No not just offices
They need to pull all the a/c out of all their homes and personal vehicles as well
