Sha’Carri Richardson is speaking out and making no excuses as she’s suspended from Team USA over a positive drug test.

30 days in a pee test
6 months in a hair follicle test.
If you work anywhere that is eligible for federal grant or loan programs, the employer is required to have a zero tolerance drug policy.
If as an athlete you can’t follow the rules, you shouldn’t be on the team. It’s simple. Dope I’m sure hurts your performance and should get your ass thrown off the team.
When I was a rower in college there was a rule, no drinking. (Marijuana wasn’t a thing yet where I was.) If you were caught or reported drinking, you were off the crew automatically.
At least Phelps had the decency of doing it in the Olympics off years when he could afford the time off.

Sigh. This lady is quite an athlete.
At least she's taking responsibility for her actions, unlike most here.
Especially with the wind drag from those eyelashes!
“I do not see why an athlete would be punished for using pot”
I don’t disagree with that, show ever the rules say no....at least until they are changed.
I read the winning horse at the Kentucky derby this year was disqualified for testing positive for a performance enhancing substance. The amount of of the substance detected was so small it could not have effected the horses performance, but the rules said ZERO so the horse was DQed.
I would rather have a marijuana user on the US team than an Anti-American, attention seeking freak like Gwen Berry.
Chill she’s a lesbian.
Isn’t she legally required to cry “racism?”

Don’t worry, there’s plenty of people on Twitter doing that for her.
“When am athlete competes abroad or in certain internationally sanctioned competitions in the U.S., the IAAF will have the authority to drug test during that competition. Furthermore, since these athletes are world ranked, they are eligible to be drug tested outside of competition by the IAAF. Similar to the out-of-competition drug test conducted by the USOC. An out-of-competition drug test conducted by the IAAF can occur at any time and any place, with no notice to the athlete.
If an American athlete competing at the Olympic Games is drug tested and the sample(s)
given test positive, the Chief de Mission of the U.S. Olympic delegation is notified that the test has revealed the presence of a prohibited substance.
According the procedures set forth in the IOC Medical Code, the IOC Medical Commission determines whether a doping violation has taken place and refers its decision to the IOC Executive Committee for approval and the imposition of a penalty. Any decision adverse to the athlete may be appealed to CAS for a final determination. Furthermore, the athlete can be tested, and probably will continually, by four different organizations and if any of them test positive, it will be sent to the IOC. So she may be “taken care of” in the US, but the IOC itself hasn’t stepped in...yet.
” I’m not sure why pot is considered an illegal drug for athletes (especially in states where it is considered legal). It certainly does not enhance athletic performance.”
There are 4 known different advantages to the use of THC for athletes:
1. Reducing muscle and joint inflammation.
2. Going hand-in-hand with its anti-inflammatory
properties, cannabis has also been found to alleviate
pain.
3. Another area of medical application for cannabis is in
treating muscle spasms.
4. THC induces sleep for better resting and improve
mental acuity.
All these are great for athletic trauma both mentally and physically. And this is not just a US competition. It is international and the rules/laws of the IOC apply, not ours.
Like she said, she knew the rules, disregarded them by knowingly violating them, and now wants to say I’m sorry? For sorry to happen it has to be an accident. This was an on purpose. Doesn’t it make a difference she broke the rules and ignored her responsibility for just doing what’s right and not respecting the people that provided the funds for her to train, travel. and compete? She violated trust and didn’t care until she got caught. But when she did, she was sorry and happy her punishment won’t interfere with her competing? Big deal.

Why even have drug tests anymore since men can pose as women and win their medals? The hypocrisy is ridiculous.
But now she won’t be able to turn her back on the US flag! A wasted opportunity/sarc
Addadictomy! STAT!
Talk about winning by an eyelash. Hers will cross the finish line before the rest of her.
Damn, look at those fake eyelashes! Somewhere a painter is missing his paint brushes............
Sometimes, you can’t decide beween two names, or three...
The USADA is a fricking, anti-USA athlete joke!
Speaking in support of Lance Armstrong, had the USADA's years long witch hunt against Lance included all the cyclists,(especially the Europeans) in the UCI, it's likely half of them would have been busted for the same crime Lance Armstrong was......
And they're still riding with huge grins on their faces.
It's doubtful that any other country subjects their athletes to the same anti-drugging scrutiny that our country does, and that especially goes for China, Germany and Russia............
See yesterday’s article of meth victim who was given Marijuana—at age 6—by her father?
