Donald Rumsfeld, the two-time defense secretary best known for serving in that position at the height of the Iraq War, has died. He was 88.

You have four possible outcomes with knowns or unknowns as variables: known/known, unknown/known, known/unknown and unknown/unknown. His speech was pure simple logic which is why the media couldn't handle it.
RIP Rummy. I wish you fair skies and happy landings.
Very true. What has been done to the military since 2009 is sickening. The Iraq invasion might have been bad policy, but the Bush people didn’t intentionally rot out the military from within. Obama did, and Biden continues that trend.
I used to admire this man.
In retrospect, I now see him as the murderous war pig that he was.

If you judge people by the consequences of their actions, then Rumsfeld was an absolute disaster.
or is he?
Ever since Rumsfeld introduced that statement to us, I have often thought about the truth and the immensity of it.
I think it comes from a book he wrote, soon after leaving public office.
Mr. Rumsfeld has been relatively quiet for this last decade.
I’m sure GWB would have liked it if he (Rumsfeld) had issued a few remarks directly critical of Donald Trump.
If he did, I never heard any such remarks.
That statement should serve as his Epitaph.
I liked that he physically attacked Colin Powell.
At least he left behind a stable and peaceful Iraq and Afghanistan that are pro-American, democratic, modern and free muslim nations.
Oh, wait.... nevermind.
RIP.
Besides his accomplishments, he was one of my all-time favorite press-conference-givers. He just had a certain way about him that made it informative and entertaining.
That was actually a very deeply philosophical comment - the press bias was so revealing of their mass stupidity.
I loved that quote and I really respected the man.
Poor soul
I have a relative who did that.
Tour after tour
He left too much on the battlefield.
Too many of our guys. Way too many.
Then again, the average age at Gettysburg was 18.
Thank you for that!
I did not know Milton had ever said anything near such words.
Rummy was quite a guy
He said he thought better on his feet. RIP
He didn’t take any crap off of these commie reporters!!
A great man, may he rest in peace.
As I like to say, you will never know as much as you don’t know.
