Last night, a friend of the Health Secretary said: “He has no comment on personal matters. No rules have been broken.”

I don’t know what his wedding vows were but I doubt if the Secretary's wife would agree with that statement.

It’s been said his ‘wife left the home when the story broke’....I doubt there’s a fix to this.

‘Don’t the Brits have any laws against things like this - a boss-underling relationship and corrupt hiring practices? This would be considered at least misconduct in the US, and many a corporate figure has had to resign because of it.

But I guess if you’re a member of government, you can do whatever you want. As in the US.
