A veteran Colorado police officer who shot dead along with a 'hero' civilian in an attack at a suburban Denver shopping district was ambushed by a suspect who expressed hatred toward law enforcement, authorities said.
...
The suspect was identified as 59-year-old Ronald Troyke by Jefferson County coroner Annette Cannon.
...
Without elaborating on what he did, Strate called Hurley, of Golden, a 'true hero who likely disrupted what could have been a larger loss of life.'
Witness Bill Troyanos told The Denver Channel it was Hurley who shot the gunman after making sure bystanders in the area were safe.
...
Not much is known at this time about the suspected gunman. According to court records cited by The Denver Post, Troyke was convicted of third-degree assault in 1992 and DWI in 1994. He was evicted from his home the following year, and in 2013 he declared bankruptcy

I've been looking for 45 minutes for a picture of the perp. None to be found...anywhere and each article I've browsed always throws in a statement that 'not much is known about the perp. Although there is an article outlining his activities since the 90s, but no picture.
Amish?
When LEO sees someone unknown to them shooting, pretty good chance they will be targeted by the LEO. Sad situation.
No picture likely means another son of obamy.
Anyone notice how Americans are being antagonized to hate their local law enforcement - but no one says a peep about federal law enforcement?
They are still portrayed as dispassionate, incorruptible public servants and bureaucrats.
That’s what I was thinking but were they even present when the shooting happened? How would they have known? This man heard the shots and immediately went toward the sound. It’s unlikely that LEO could respond that quickly, don’t you think?
Coulture Law
No picture on the Daily Mail or the Denver Post article cited therein. There are no images of Ronald Troyke, the suspect. Not on Google Images, Duckduckgo Images nor on Brave Images. Just the officer, the (deceased) good Samaritan and a witness to the crime.
Funny how we don’t even get a mug shot or anything. Troyke had priors, so news agencies should be able to get the images quickly.
yep. that’s what I thought.
Looks like LEO did shoot the Good Samaritan. So sad.
I’m betting they both got shots off, at each other. Only rational explanation, unless there was a second shooter they don’t know about.
On a side note, and I am in absolutely not talking negatively about Hurley, but does anyone know what, We Are Change Colorado, is? Not much out there, except that they seem to be a type of journalistic, watch dog type group, that is promoting that they don’t take sides. Just curious.
Toting a pistol isn’t a Right or Left thing. I’m sure there are Democrats and Liberals that carry(maybe), but that would also seem a bit counter to their narrative.
Either way, the guy is a hero for doing what he did and making the sacrifice he made.
Right.
See post 5 and tell me what you think
I have a reliable source in the Arvada city gov.
I think there’s plenty of hatred for the Feds. But the feds aren’t out on street like local cops. You don’t see them like you do the police. They aren’t writing speeding or seat belt tickets.
They spend most of their day in an office.
I worked with a few back in the day. Some were amazed that my partner and I could just roll up on guys and start going our thing. For them, everything is planned an approved above them.
Plus, they have an incredible amount of top cover from the government, IE the Capitol Police-06Jan-Ashli Babbitt, and the willing and complicit media.
The DM article said the Samaritans shooter wasn’t known.
You have another source?
Yeah, it’s the only logical explanation. Piss poor writing these days. You’d think that it would have been included in the article.
They have had plenty to say about the Border Patrol and ICE. For our part we have had plenty to say about the FBI and BATF.
Yes.
There was a police presence before/during the shooting? That opens up another 1000 questions about this incident.
I won’t speculate on that.
