That only happens if the left can still control the vote counting. If it is a fair election you are wrong on both counts.

In the House, the GOP has to win back suburban seats that they lost in a big way in 2018. They captured some of them in 2020 but in many areas these are likely to solidify into permanent Democrat seats. I'm thinking particularly of the suburban NYC, Philadelphia and D.C. areas.

In the Senate, the Republicans have 20 seats up for re-election in 2022. The Democrats have 14. More importantly, the Republicans have five incumbents retiring -- including some in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Carolina where it will be much harder for the GOP to hold the seat in an open race.
