Please cite one case of a state legislature asking Congress or the VP to “delay” anything related to the certification.
P.S. — A sternly worded letter from a few legislators doesn’t count as “a state legislature” doing anything. In order for a legislature to act, the legislators actually have to VOTE on something.
Oh really? Did you even bother to look?
And no, the VP doesn’t need a vote from a legislature, only a group of credible legislators asking for a delay based on substantial evidence of fraud.
The VP could DELAY just as any judge in a case can postpone a hearing based on one side’s attorney request based on new findings.
The idea was to let Trump and his lawyers make a case before Congress with his supporters outside showing Congress that something was seriously wrong.
Nothing about JANUARY 6 is in the Constitution and therefore Pence could have said we have significant claims of fraud and I find it appropriate to DELAY the acceptance of these votes until January X. He could have done that. But he didn’t because he was controlled by his Chief of Staff who was controlled by people with money, influence, filled with Trump hatred.
When you know the full factual history, then you know Pence is a first class backstabber. The polling of conservatives is 8 to 2 against Pence, they can’t stand him. All he had to do was say I will DELAY, not DENY, but DELAY and his reputation with conservatives would have been smooth.
But what you don’t know is that Pence’s staff were conniving from the outset to replace Trump with Impeachment over Russian collusion and to install Pence as President. And Pence was fine with it.
Pence also caused General Flynn to be fired and prosecuted because Mike Flynn knew what Pence’s people were up to along with a slew of other slimy worms in the DC orbit.
