The freedom didn’t last too long for Blacks in the south. In 1876 the election compromise meant that the federal troops were removed from the southern states. With the Republican directed policies no longer being enforced the Democrat Jim Crow laws were enacted denying ex-slaves rights guaranteed by the 13 - 15 amendments.
I call this the re-enslavement of the once emancipated slaves. You won’t find this taught in universities but it’s the truth.
It’s astonishing to me that Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” of virtual enslavement worked so well for the Democrats. Stay on the plantation or be shunned like Thomas Sowell and Candice Owens. They so rightly marched on as real citizens, not slaves. I believe racist Biden got no more than 35 million real votes while Trump got nearly 100 million. It will come out in the wash.
