Trump endorsement shakes up GOP Senate primary in NC

Walker, who previously served as the No. 4 House Republican, has pinned blame on Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows, a former congressman from North Carolina, saying that a year-old disagreement between Meadows and himself had factored into the endorsement.

“My first thought — it was that Mark Meadows had orchestrated this whole event,” Walker told the USA Today Network over the weekend. He said that his endorsement last year of Rep. Madison Cawthorn over a Meadows family friend in the House race for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District had caused “friction” with Trump’s former chief of staff.

Walker was the number 4 House Republican under who? Boehner? Ryan?

And it was Meadows who removed Boehner.

Looks like Trump made the right choice.

His endorsement of Budd has them pissed and flummoxed like nothing else. Good sign.

Now these people need to get out of Budd’s way. Just like the Rats do once they’ve selected a nominee.

“We’ve got to stop looking at his endorsement as the end-all, be-all here,” one North Carolina GOP operative said. “The Democrats are over there saying that all Republicans care about now is Donald Trump, and I don’t want to prove them right. They’re going to hang that around our necks.”

80mm votes says you’re an idiot.

Once Budd wins the Primary they should get out of the way. If Budd wins, they need to support him going forward.

Here’s why he was endorsed:

‘“He picked a losing horse,” one North Carolina Republican strategist said, arguing that while Budd’s image as a hard-line conservative and Trump loyalist would play well in the GOP primary, “he’s going to have a problem in the general.”

‘The strategist argued that Budd’s decision in December to join an amicus brief supporting a lawsuit challenging the results of the November presidential election in four states, as well as his vote against certifying President Biden’s Electoral College victory, pose a liability for Republicans’

As a NC voter, this will make me support Budd with more vigor.

By the time the general rolls around it will be known that massive cheating took place and he will be a hero for standing up.

TheHill has no love for Republicans, and loves to pit them against each other. They especially love using unnamed sources. Walker has reason to be disappointed. A solid Conservative and pro=Trump, he announced a run for Governor some time ago. That trump would come out for someone else must be a shock.

So Trump’s endorsed a “loser” according to the GOPe, because the person he endorsed believed the election was fraudulent and voted not to certify the election...

And because of this, he’s not going to be competitive in the general election according to these GOPe folks who are running away from 2020 was a fraud... and either don’t believe it was, or refuse to fight it if they do...

And if the AZ audit turns out fraud? And other Audits follow suit.. and there is left no doubt that the election was stolen, will this guy still be a loser???

These “experts” are everything that is WRONG with the GOP, and the political class.. they don’t represent this country or you...

We’ll see how NC goes down next fall... but hardly would I write off someone as a loser because they won’t swallow 2020 was legit.

‘“He picked a losing horse,” one North Carolina Republican strategist said, arguing that while Budd’s image as a hard-line conservative and Trump loyalist would play well in the GOP primary, “he’s going to have a problem in the general.”

How did this brilliant unnamed “strategist” handicap the Mark Robinson race for Lt. Governor in 2020? Most of the state RINO’s didn’t think Robinson had a chance. Robinson was not a recipient of the big GOP money, yet he won at the same time the GOP candidate for governor (who was the Lt. Governor at the time) lost to the Democrat who should have been beatable.

Interesting that Democrat Governor Cooper recently stated he would not run for the Senate seat in 2022, a race he believes he can win, because he doesn’t want Robinson to be elevated to the governor’s mansion. Robinson is black, Cooper is white. Imagine if a white Republican governor had made the same statement about a black Democrat Lt. Governor. There would have been an nation media furor and demands for the Republican governor to resign.

Lt. Governor Mark Robinson seems to be the real deal. He is the most interesting and charismatic Republican in the state. Yet it seems he is virtually ignored by the Democrat Governor who won’t meet with him, the state and national press, and the GOP establishment. The GOP should be giving him face time nationally, yet the party ignores an up and coming black conservative.

The NC GOP establishment has given us to RINO U.S. Senators (Burr and Tillis). Most of the GOP delegation in the House of Representatives is worthless. My GOP representatives in the state legislature won’t respond to the average citizen (phone calls, emails or letters). It seems our Republican representatives in the legislature are only interested in serving developers, the insurance industry, and bankers.

North Carolina GOP “strategists” are using the same “safe” political playbook that turned Virginia blue. There is a good chance the NC Senate seat will go to the Dem in 2022 if a Bush Republican is the candidate or a conservative candidate receives only lukewarm support from the party.

The “operatives’s” statement belies the political reality of the tide shift in NC politics. The LT. Gov is a well supported black 2nd Amendment activist supported and put in office on Trump coattails (the Gov.Dem idiot cooper was not up for re-election, nor was his criminal Leftist AG, and the two of them tried to engineer the election steal in NC for Biden). The legislature in NC is more conservative that most understand.

Actively went out and got Federal judge injunctions against the machinations of the national DNC’s Mark Elias vote stealer who was successful in GA changing absentee ballot laws rules with Stacey Abrams. Elias was defeated in this from the injunctions in NC.

As everywhere there are “different” types of repubs. The operatives are scared spitless their little fiefdoms are shot to hell, because they ignore the crossover democrat conservative voters (and black conservatives) who supported Trump in the first place .

90/10 is deceptive.

About 10% historically has been crossover vote, for both parties. The 90/10 split within the GOP now, has some overlap with that traditional 10%. So we should not be deceived into thinking that it is an additional 10% of lost support for the core GOP position, which is drain the swamp and build the wall.
