Don’t worry there is a huge number of deer in our state. Wisconsin has tons of deer in every county even Milwaukee city limits. There is no shortage of deer. A simple ten minute drive down 43 or 90 you will see deer either grazing in a farm or dead on the side of the road. I see them in my back yard. When I was young you could only hunt one buck. Now you can take does and fawns as well. If your county does not have deer, hunt in the county next door. And now, when the hunting is over, they send in DNR people to cull the herd further.

They also have seasons for bear, turkey and elk. Never seen an elk here, turkey is everywhere. So they will ad Crane hunting season for the bad shots.

From what I am being told it is county by county. I spoke to a DNR employee last year in Ashland who said deer are being pushed South because of the predator population in the North. He said it is causing problems in the more heavily populated southern part of the State. This was before the wolf cull. He made an off the cuff comment about insurance companies pushing the State to do something.
