“Replace Rush” to me means those who can do news discussions dealing with current events in light of true conservative viewpoints, but with the ability to present information and the conservative philosophy for easy comprehension by all, AND with humor. Loads of humor.
The problem with all of these replacement-wannabe’s is that they are boring boring boring. Rush was fun, he laughed at the situations and told us why they were funny, and he couldn’t contain himself during the discussions. Only Mark Steyne comes close, but Dana is funny, too. Her impersonations and silly voices when she’s mocking some hoity-toity wine-and-croissant actress or news reader are hilarious. She needs to develop more running gags/bits (I know she does Florida Man, that’s a start). But compare with Rush, with his theme songs for animal rights and gay life, and does anyone remember his caller abortion sound effect (flushing toilet when he hung up on crazy callers)? Etc. And Rush’s parody songs and parody skits with....? Paul Shankland....were great. That’s what I want, with the conservative viewpoint and discussion, not terse angry monotone lectures.
>>and does anyone remember his caller abortion sound effect (flushing toilet when he hung up on crazy callers)?
Wasn’t that at a time that Rush was being targeted by “seminar callers” who under false pretense claimed to be lifelong fans, dittos, etc. and then would say “BUT...” and go right to the Democrat talking points for that day?
100% agree...
The longer Rush is gone, the more I appreciate just how SPECIAL he was. There IS no one else that even comes close. I think, I took him for granted. After 32 years of faithful listening, I usually knew what Rush was going to say, even before he said it. He was me... speaking back to me on the radio, daily.
I’ve learned over the years to “Never say Never”. Maybe, one day... another will appear that will be comparable. I haven’t heard anyone yet.
