“Tarzan: The Epic Adventures” actor Joe Lara was killed in a plane crash that left his wife and five others dead in Tennessee on Saturday.
The 58-year-old was with his spouse, church founder Gwen Shamblin Lara, when the plane crashed into Percy Priest Lake outside of Nashville, Rutherford County Fire & Rescue said.
Joe Lara first portrayed the titular adventurer in 1989′s “Tarzan in Manhattan,” a made-for-TV movie in which the character travels from Africa to New York City.
He took on the role again in the “Tarzan: The Epic Adventures” series, which aired for one season beginning in 1996 and centered on Tarzan’s feats in Africa.

His wifes hair style was something else...
Dang autocorrect. Meant ‘last remaining’.
Casper Van Dien was in a crappy Tarzan movie, does he count?
And also the way she wore light colored lipstick with dark lip liner. Not as bad as tammy faye baker clownish look but pretty close
I don’t remember him playing Tarzan.
The name was familiar and looked him up. He was in an episode of Tropical Heat.
RIP.
And Chris Lambert was in the almost as bad Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan. He’s still alive.

Christopher Lambert
Casper Van Dien best known for playing Johnny Rico in Starship Troopers. Whatever happened to him?
Oo-la-la I think he could have done much better.
Present eyes looks a little weird...hmmm
Started making crappy sequels and direct to video stuff. He’s still working, but never hear about him. He was kind of a big deal in the mid 90s. His Tarzan movie was the start of the decline I think.
I had forgotten about that one. I do remember Mike Henry (Junior in Smokey and the Bandit) starring in a couple of Tarzan movies in the mid to late 60’s.
Good lord! Yikes!
She is kinda scary across the board IMO
Sort of a Tina Turner meets Dolly Parton and shares a can of self rising flour.
I had never heard of him . he certainly had model looks when he was young. Interesting cheek bone structure
