They’re attention whores, and in today’s click-bait, selfie-posting, zero-think society, the more outrageous the statement, the more likely it will rise above the din.
They must lead dark, sickening, useless and worthless lives.
Not satisfied with that, they want you to lead one too.
Usually, the “scholars” responsible for this kind of twaddle were less-than-stellar when they were in undergrad or grad school. I knew people exactly like this when I was in grad school. They shied away from serious, deep research and preferred “studies” where they could be more subjective and explore their own pet theories with little constraint.
