Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) called the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol an “insurrection against the Constitution,” while other Republicans downplayed the riot’s significance.
Romney’s comments came as several Republicans, including Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Rep. Jody Hice Norman (R-GA), minimized the violence or made false claims about the attack.
Clyde said during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing Wednesday that calling what took place on January 6 “an insurrection” was “a boldface lie.”

I believe members of the Antifa/BLM drew the peaceful Trump supporters into more aggressive behavior. Ultimately, they led the Trump supporters inside the Capitol. For the ignorant MAGA crowd, it was a tour of the building. They did not realize that it was a trap so their act would be painted as an insurrection. Antifa/BLM knew how to get the crowd to do what they wanted. This tactic was well perfected in the streets of America’s cities during the summer.
Romney is exploiting the mischaracterized smear of the Capital protest. He needs to get a real job.
Yes, that was made up. Among the 'causalties' was someone who died weeks later from conditions unrelated to Jan 5, and one was a suicide a month later.
