Hamas forced their hand. 2000 rockets aimed at Israeli civilians requires a response. Only so much they can do from the air, especially if they know where the weapons caches are located and they are targets that cannot be taken by air either for tactical or PR reasons. Same with individual targets. Can’t bomb a house full of kids to get one guy using them as human shields. Have to go in and capture or kill him.
Hopefully minimal loss of life and an end to the hostilities. At the same time, a ground incursion raises the ‘international stakes’ so to speak. Internal and international pressure on both sides.
Israel also has to signal to Iran it won’t hesitate; and frankly they are showing the world that the Biden administration is completely oblivious, reckless and/or derelict.
Meanwhile, Israel may be headed to yet another election and Hamas just helped Netanyahu if so. In any case Hamas didn’t do the Palestinian parties in Israel any favors. There was a chance they would have been part of a new government but that’s probably out the window. Maybe part of their calculations.
Israel has to watch the northern flank, Hezbullah has more rockets, better rockets. But, Lebanon has a lot of internal pressure right now and the majority of people of Lebanon don’t want Hezbullah running (ruining) the country.
Hopefully minimal loss of life

If so, rinse and repeat. Peace when all Hamas members and supporters are dead - men women children - all of them, else they will just bide their time and come back again.
“Can’t bomb a house full of kids to get one guy using them as human shields.”
Of course you can. Their deaths wouldn’t be on Israel they’d be on those Muzzie savages.

WATCH as a Hamas rocket aimed at Israel misfires and falls back into Gaza.
But this isn’t the 1st time—Hamas misfired 350 rockets in the last 3 days.
These rockets result in the deaths of innocent Gazan civilians.
It’s time for the world to hold Hamas accountable.
