I fully believe that many people are moving out of California.
What I don’t believe is that the population is decreasing. The illegals coming in daily more than make up for the people leaving.
From 2010 to 2020, about 6.1 million people left for other states and only 4.9 million arrived from other parts of the country...

I’m hoping this will be the year for me to leave CA. It’s past time. Just need to get the job situation pointed out of state - even though I can work from home from a new residence in TX, the job is still in CA and I’d still need to pay CA income tax.

The bad news is that they are coming here to Arizona and bidding the price of housing up. Our rental house had a fire and we want to buy a home. Our last offer of $350,000 on a $325,000 house was bested by a higher bidder. A lot of them are coming from California, and the listings are explicitly acknowledging that.
