Two Cultures

I don’t think its so clean as that, and as a result, its not going to break cleanly into sides. There is a generational element, and a whole lot of conspiracy theories and fake news giving strange talking points to various people who then go and annoy their family and friends until someone can talk them down from whatever weirdness they are evangelizing about.

What we have is the globalists trying to push the culture of Philistines off on the rest of us, its a sort of magpie collection of random shiny objects. Then you have the populists who just wish they’d stop mucking up art, music, literature. Then there are other nations pushing really polarized fake news taking the most extreme positions against cultural norms. You have RT news pushing the idea that biological women taking testosterone will turn into supermen thanks to a fluke in female biology, you have the Chinese trying to say Western vaccines are both ineffective and unsafe. Then there are enviro-whackos like RFK, Jr. using his position as Democrat royalty to push the anti-vax message. Con artists always go to where the money is, and America is where the money is. Money and power. Its not cleanly Red vs Blue states, its messier than that.

I think you have a huddled mass of citizens watching various members of the tribe get picked off by identity politics or anti-vax conspiracy theories. Most people are not going to be happy with either of these, so most people are going to mostly agree on things like defunding the police is a bad idea. They are going to want infrastructure to have a traditional definition, but by the same token they will recognize that Adam Smith’s “invisible hand” hasn’t worked in a globalist world where countries try to sabotage each other. Most people are going to agree that Hollywood and the award shows suck. Red or Blue, we want our darned roads fixed and we don’t want to be continually preached at by purveyors of the social sciences (that would go extinct if taking their courses became entirely voluntary).

The only thing that will fix the problem is Christianity. Having differences is not a problem if the Creator is prevalent throughout the country. Only in His absence could coastal life, mountain life, and plains life be a possible cause for war rather than bringing variety and bounty to all.

I have an answer that I think is correct...unpleasant but correct. The number of Christians and Pro-American nationalists are a distinct minority in the land.

This may be true.

However, I'd like to believe that the problem with pro-American citizens is our lack of unity and organization against globalists and others. I.e., against anti-Americas who have been amplified far beyond their numbers through certain instititutions.

Sadly, history shows us that a small number (a minority) have been able to dictate to and govern the majority. Communism, Facism, Baathism come to mind. The time is well past that Christians and pro-Americans fight and spend our wealth to remove those who have worked to enslave us to their unacceptiable worldview.

Christians and Pro-Americans engaged in a superhuman effort to do that last election. Regardless of what one thinks of the legitimacy of the election, Conservatives no longer hold the levers of power anywhere. They are the majority in most rural areas and some suburban areas, but overall they are in the minority everywhere that matters. I may be too pessimistic, but I’m afraid that 2022 will confirm my fears. If conservatives are still a minority (or very slim majority) in the House after that election, then it seems that the nation’s (if we really want to call it that) direction is determined (and it looks grim long-term). The danger of making individual freedom your cardinal virtue is that it can lead to a very self-absorbed ethic. Today “individual freedom” means voting to get whatever material benefits I can regardless of the consequences.

Many believe that we're past the tipping point and that our republic and its founding principals are beyond rescuing. This may be so. However, hope springs eternal. The story of Jonah and Ninevah gives me hope.

The word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, the great city, and cry out against it, because their wickedness has come up before Me."

Who knows, God may turn and relent, and turn from His burning anger so that we will not perish.” When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way, then God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would bring on them. People and nations can change, i.e., can be redeemed. If I didn't believe this, I wouldn't be a Christian.

An attitude we need to have in these times was displayed by 3 Hebrew children who were being threatened because they would not bow down to a false god.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in rage and anger gave orders to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; then these men were brought before the king. Nebuchadnezzar began speaking and said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, that you do not serve my gods, nor worship the golden statue that I have set up? Now if you are ready, at the moment you hear the sound of the horn, flute, lyre, trigon, psaltery and bagpipe, and all kinds of musical instruments, to fall down and worship the statue that I have made, very well. But if you do not worship, you will immediately be thrown into the midst of a furnace of blazing fire; and what god is there who can rescue you from my hands?”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego replied to the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we are not in need of an answer to give you concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods nor worship the golden statue that you have set up." - Taken from Book of Daniel.
