It’s becoming increasingly clear as the pandemic continues to wind down that the goal of achieving “herd immunity” in the U.S. won’t be possible — at least, as it’s defined by public health officials. Too many of us decline to be vaccinated for the U.S. to meet the target goal of 70-90 percent of citizens who have either been vaccinated or contracted Covid-19.
Instead, we’ve got to accept the fact that the virus will become a “manageable threat” and continue to bedevil the world for years to come.
“The virus is unlikely to go away,” said Rustom Antia, an evolutionary biologist at Emory University in Atlanta. “But we want to do all we can to check that it’s likely to become a mild infection.”
Part of the problem is the coronavirus itself. The virus is mutating at an alarming rate. Some of the variants have been shown to be more infectious. Some are more virulent and cause more severe symptoms.
But so far, the vaccines that have been approved for use have demonstrated great effectiveness against all Covid variants. That’s the good news. The bad news is that some virologists believe that a variant is going to come along that is resistant to the current crop of vaccines. Then what?
For the moment, this scenario is unlikely. It’s probable that the vaccine will give at least some protection, which means fewer hospitalizations and deaths regardless of what variant is causing the infection.

There is a lot more motivation to claim vaccination than to “avoid wearing masks” (see “Dr.” Fauci - they still have to wear masks, sometimes 2!); the gubmint will restrict your activities if you don’t get it.

People will lie to avoid these restrictions.
There is no scientific reason to separate those vaxed and those who aren’t if the vaccines don’t prevent contracting and spreading the virus; “Dr.” Fauci is still wearing a mask because he knows it is all theater. The virus is real; the “vaccines” are treatment, not vaccines by any definition of the word.

The vaccines are vaccines.
The vaccines do prevent contracting and spreading the virus.
You have a choice, treat the unvaccinated and the vaccinated the same or not. Which do you prefer?
The people pushing this “vaccine” are the ones admitting 1) it doesn’t prevent you from catching the virus, just minimizes the effect ON YOU, and 2) it doesn’t prevent you from spreading the virus.
Why should you treat them any differently at all? They are both equally dangerous to anyone at risk - aren’t they? THE GOVERNMENT IS ADMITTING THIS PUBLICLY.

That’s old news. Emerging data shows that the vaccines do prevent you from catching the virus and that it prevents you from spreading the virus.
If that is true, why is Dr. Fauci still wearing a mask? Other vaccinated people are doing so as well.
What we are seeing with our lying eyes isn’t matching what they’re saying.
