Elliot Page, the actor formerly known as Ellen Page but who now identifies as a man, “collapsed” after being asked to wear a dress at the 2010 premiere of Christopher Nolan’s hit movie “Inception,” according to an interview Page gave to Oprah Winfrey.
During Page’s sit-down interview for Oprah, Page claimed to have suffered a panic attack during the international press tour for “Inception” out of pressure to conform with Hollywood gender demands.
“There was so much press and so many premieres all around the world and I was wearing dresses and heels to pretty much every single event,” Page said, as reported by IndieWire.
Page said that a horrible panic attack occurred at the Paris premiere, after a staff member brought three dresses as formal wear options for the film’s initial screening.
“I lost it, it was like a cinematic moment. That night, after the premiere at the after-party, I collapsed. That’s something that’s happened frequently in my life, usually corresponding with a panic attack,” Page said. “Ultimately, of course, it’s every experience you’ve had since you were a toddler, people saying, ‘The way you’re sitting is not ladylike, you’re walking like a boy. The music you’re listening to as a teenager,’ obviously, the way you dress. Every single aspect of who you are constantly being looked at and put in a box in a very binary system. That’s what it leads to.
Page also claims to have suffered from severe anxiety after being nominated for an Oscar for for “Juno”
“That was a pretty intense time. I remember it felt so impossible to communicate with people how unwell I was because obviously there is so much excitement,” said Page. “The film unexpectedly became a big hit, I became quite known, all these things and I felt I couldn’t express just the degree of pain I was in.”
“So the Oscars, for example, I could not look at a photo from that red carpet,” Page added. “People might watch this and say, ‘Oh my gosh, this person is crying about the night they went to the Oscars.’ And I think again that prevents the ability to allow yourself to not just feel the pain but reflect on the pain, to even begin to sit down and bring it all up and finally confront all of that.”
Page came out as transgender and non-binary in early December 2020, roughly six years after coming out as a lesbian.
“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” Page said in a statement posted to Twitter. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”
I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey.
................................................
It should be concerned about the end of it’s journey.
Man Up !! Don’t be a whiney little bitch !!
But, the America that supported that does not exist anymore, and until people like Elon Musk start working on time machines, it never will.
I have a $100 that says she was sexually abused by a lesbian when she was younger. She has followed Chastity Bono EXACTLY, and we know what happened to her.
You MUST fully believe, enthusiastically embrace, and even celebrate this insanity.
THAT is what I find fundamentally repellent about all this.
In the past, you could have said with a shrug:
"Look, what you do with your own life is your business. I'm not interested in getting it on with a guy saying he is a girl who is a Lesbian who rebels by wanting to have non-lesbian sex with a guy..."
and sane people would understand the insanity inherent in people that engage in those mental gymnastics expecting others to accept it and play along.
In a sane world.
You're mentally ill, seek help.
Most women never wear dresses anymore. No problem with that!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a nut.
After reading this thread I checked out Turned A. Page and in the video clip of Page with Oprah, Page appeared to be a sad and rather sickly person. If they remake Oliver they’ve got one of Fagin’s boys right there.
Suck it up buttercup. Use your patriarchal white supremacy and live the good life.
Men can wear dresses. she would be celebrate being a “man” shocking the world and wearing a dress.
Take away his Man Card!
Has anyone else noticed that iPhone now has three genders for every emoji now? Him, her, and Hermaphrodite. These snowflakes think they invented Hermaphrodite. Suppose they never read classics. What this woman is - anxiety ridden female and confused. Pronoun: moron.
I am not convinced she had to wear a dress for the Oscars. Women have worn pants to Oscars before. Streisand wore pants to the Oscars back in 1969 and others have done it, e.g. Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, etc.
That would show us! 😂
Where have they all gone?
Gone to become boys, every one?
What poor Elliott seems to stupid to understand is; he was borne a male and no matter how hard he tries to have it otherwise he will die a male!
