It’s really a shame that I’m too old to take advantage of augmentation.
The end of the world and all.

Bring back the explosive rat....
“The explosive rat,[1] also known as a rat bomb,[2] was a weapon developed by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) in World War II for use against Germany. Rat carcasses were filled with plastic explosives, and were to be distributed near German boiler rooms, where it was expected they would be disposed of by burning, with the subsequent explosion having a chance of causing a boiler explosion.
The explosive rats never saw use, as the first shipment was intercepted by the Germans; however, the resulting search for more booby trapped rats consumed enough German resources for the SOE to conclude that the operation was a success.”

The Pentagon would have access to a broader range of ideas than any human or humans could fathom on their own.
Oh, I know that puts MY mind at ease...

superhuman capabilities, by means of combining human ingenuity with the power, speed and efficiency of machines. The F-16 has done exactly that since the 1970's. It is not a new concept.
F-16 pilots "think" the plane through its maneuvers not literally but the man-machine interface is so well blended that flying the plane is fun not work. And, you can fly right to the edge of the envelope without fear of becoming a smoking hole in the air or ground.
My Hyundai Sonata is well on it's way there too.
