At the very least, there is wisdom in *delaying* the 2nd shot.

In UK/Canada there are 3-4 months of a wait because they have a “get everyone at least the 1st dose” strategy.

The only reason why there are weeks and not months between the shots is due to the time constraints of the clinical trials.

The first shot alone is theoretically quite effective — initially 50% and then gaining up to 70-80% efficacy after a few weeks. This is apparently how vaccines work in general. Nobody knows how durable the first shot is. But nobody knows how durable the 2nd shot is put together either. The evidence is being uncovered in real time.

This highly dangerous global medical experiment has hundreds of millions of unwitting guinea pigs without your participation.

Those unwitting guinea pigs - the volunteers - are getting injected with a compound that causes their bodies to generate the spike protein by itself.

The spike protein is like a self-adapting skeleton key.

Over time, the deadly dangers of the spike protein by itself will finally be widely accepted, but sadly it will be too late for the volunteers then.

Thank you for that information.

“...we will have to keep wearing masks and practicing social distancing forever.”

They are telling us that anyway, luckily masks are not required in my county in 95% of businesses. Distancing still pushed but ignored a lot by customers and employees.

Different places, different rules.

I wonder if people who have caught it have more robust immunity than people who have gotten shots.

Anyone here skipping the second shot? I've skipped both so far.

I have too! Dr Fauci said even if you have been vaccinated that you should still mask up and avoid social gatherings. So what's the point?!

I got bad side effects from both. Wouldn’t have done it again.

as the virus mutated it would get weaker because that’s how a virus stays active.

In the long run, yes. This is a brand new virus so this is just the beginning. The deadly strains will fizzle out and the weaker ones will remain active. But we're not at that stage yet.

I’ve never seen anybody answer the question of: Why is a vaccine being pushed when the survival rate of c19 is appx 99%?

You seem honest and sincere. You do realize the vaccine doesn’t stop you from getting COVID right?!?

I know several people who have had Covid ...

I have a close family member who had it, and he has a laundry list of other ailments - COPD, epileptic seizures, and even... HIV. He stayed home and drank lots of fluids and took aspirin for his fever. Ten days later all good. So how bad can it be?!

Sorry to hear. I haven’t gotten any shots yet, just waiting for now. It’s a crapshoot all the way around.

Some are more scared of the virus, some are more scared of the shots, that’s just the way it is.

Follow the money.

This is from Moderna's SEC filing.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1682852/000168285220000017/mrna-20200630.htm

Key sentence from the "description of the business" section--

Since inception, we have incurred significant net losses. As of June 30, 2020, we had an accumulated deficit of $1.74 billion. We may continue to incur significant expenses and operating losses for the foreseeable future. In addition, we anticipate that our expenses will increase significantly in connection with our ongoing activities to support our platform research, drug discovery and clinical development, infrastructure and Research Engine and Early Development Engine, digital infrastructure, creation of a portfolio of intellectual property, expansion into global markets, and administrative support.

We do not expect to recognize significant revenue from sales of potential mRNA medicines unless and until we successfully complete clinical development and obtain regulatory approval for one or more of our investigational medicines. If we seek to obtain regulatory approval for any of our investigational medicines, we expect to incur significant commercialization expenses. Our investigational vaccine against the novel coronavirus (mRNA-1273), which is currently in clinical trials, has been developed rapidly to respond to the global COVID-19 pandemic. We are expending significant efforts to further the rapid development of this potential vaccine and expect to continue to do so over the next 12 months. These efforts have required and will continue to require the expenditure of significant funds and the establishment of significant worldwide infrastructure and partnerships.

It takes a bit longer for some to wise up.

>>In India they opened up everything after the first wave and are now paying the penalty.<<

The reason the pandemic is so bad in India is because of their poor hygiene and infrastructure, 1.4 Billion people crammed together and abject poverty.

They could clamp down their cities tight as a drum and still have high transmission rates.

I know 5 people very well who have been through the virus. Ages range from 14 to 55. All said it was not a big deal, not bedridden, though one complained of a slow return of sense of smell.

Some people are “afraid” is a straw man, disrespectful argument that I would expect on a liberal website. To be clear, these people have made what is for them a rational decision, likely based on the fact that they felt so bad after the first shot that it’s worth the risk to skip the second shot for a virus with an over a 99 percent chance of survival. These people are likely not obese, take vitamin D and exercise too. They literally and correctly expect that their symptoms from COVID will be less severe than from the second shot.

“Some people are “afraid” is a straw man,”

Very true. Some people are jerks about pushing their preferred position on others because THEY are scared unless everyone gets the shot(s).

Too bad, they can stay scared, wear two masks in the car alone, etc.

If you are <65 and otherwise healthy it’s highly unlikely that you’ll have a bad outcome. Most of those I know have experienced nothing more than mild cold symptoms...and some of those folks have pre-existing health problems, are overweight and >70 years old.
