This DailyMail article uses fear-porn knowing that most people can’t understand large numbers. The article screams about 2,000+ dying of Covid, which sounds appalling, and then goes an to conflate that with 1M infected, which gives the reader the sense those 1M will soon be dead, which is false.

Of course most people can’t or won’t understand the math of large numbers that in a population of 1.4B, 2,000 dying is statistically zero. The Karens will rapidly ascend to their soapboxes and denounce you as heartless and wanting to kill grandma if you start applying math or logic to the situation.

The media’s click-bait focused reporting truly is appalling. Appauling to the point of criminal in its intent. They want panic.

Lol. I remember in Feb of last year when people here said nobody had died yet. They were technically correct but also so ignorant of disease and logarithmic increase in a dense population (or they had an agenda).

If this number is accurate, it's far better than we've managed in the US - we've had around 3 times as many deaths with a population far smaller than India's. It's interesting that the media has decided to hype hysteria about COVID now, as vaccines roll out and the threat of the disease seems to be fading.
