Broward sheriff’s deputies are being told not to enforce Florida’s new anti-rioting law unless absolutely necessary.
In those cases, they must run it up the chain of command before taking action...

So the sheriff is saying instead that he’ll support rioting, violence, and looting? Should make good political fodder for the next election.

We had people blocking roads, there was destruction in Miami and riots in Fort Lauderdale.
Just because the northern areas of the state didn’t allow destruction, this “journalist” decided things were peachy keen.

I believe the text of the law provides penalties for cities/counties that choose to shirk the law. The Legislature and Governor know full well that there are some liberal-controlled areas within the state.
Broward was nice back in the late 80’s when Sheriff Callahan ran the place, then the trash from Jersey and NY came in. Now it’s the same as Beijing China.

If I understand the law, the sheriff can be arrested for not following the new law.
So the rioters know where to go!
