It’s a shame they need to pass a law like this. When rioters are threatening your life and the lives of your family trying to break into your vehicle and kill you, you have every right to defending yourself and your family with deadly force.
That’s just a basic human right.

...the driver must exercise “due care” ... Oh, if I'm ever caught in that kind of situation I'll exercise due care so as not to run over/into anyone. Tell you what, I'll empty the magazines of my EDC into them first as incentive to get out of the way and not get run over. ;-) That's the only "due care" they merit.

Already have that sensible courtesy in my state. After a truck driver ran over a bunch of BLM turds, the police charged the commies with criminal damage to the truck. Further protests by BLM were cancelled until further notice.

Does the law include a provision that requires insurance companies to reimburse for incidental damages such as broken headlights, dented fenders, washing blood off afterwards? They’d also have to weigh in on what the deductible would be for things like that.
