Six hospitals in the Indian capital Delhi have completely run out of oxygen and doctors say other hospitals have just a few hours' worth of supply left. A number of people have died while waiting for oxygen, and more than 99% of all intensive care beds are full. India is in the grips of a second wave of Covid infections and on Thursday recorded the highest one-day tally of new cases anywhere in the world. The country has recorded close to 16 million confirmed infections.

The people accepted being vaccinated and did not listen to ivermectin and HCQ charlatans and now the country is nearly covid free.”
See ransomnote’s post; the data say something different is happening:

Can you post a link to it?

When Nobel Prize winner Michael Levitt (who’s not anti vax) showed that all causes of mortalitiy were shown to be rising in Israel, a result of the suppressed immune function resulting from vaccinated population now less able to fight disease, Israel pulled out of reporting services ‘temporarily’ and then resumed participation, this time with ‘prettier’ numbers to hide the truth.
Likely the stats showing that all causes of death are increasing tandem to vaccination will be deleted from Twitter so I’ll post the Tweet below.

Many thanks for archiving the charts from that twtt!
If a person’s had the first Pfizer how protected are they without the second dose?
Well, again, short term data flukes seem to be the norm, so, we’ll have to see, WRT Israel. But I pretty much ignore one or two day variations.
India’s curves are impressive (in a bad way) because the acceleration is actually quite smooth, almost “textbook” as I just posted above. It also goes back to late Feb., so it’s not all THAT sudden, it’s just been maintained.
I did a quick look around and several other countries are struggling, but seem to be post peak.
Their COVID-19 cases and deaths have crashed to near zero as the population has been mostly vaccinated. Israelis are settling back in to pretty normal life.
They’re averaging just 150 new cases per day and 5 deaths in the whole country. Down from nearly 10,000 new cases per day and 100 deaths per day.

Based on rates of vaccination, Israel is roughly 1.5 - 2 months ahead of us.
What brand of shot did they get?
Israel has primarily been using Pfizer’s vaccine. It’s reported (though not confirmed to my knowledge) that they paid way over the normal market rate in order to get priority on shipments. They also just inked a deal with Moderna to ensure they have plentiful supply for the remainder of their population.
around 80% as i understand
The only treatment that’s been particularly effective so far has been monoclonal antibodies (the treatment President Trump got in the hospital). And even that’s nowhere close to 100%.
Everyone who’s been holding India up as an example of what happens when you give everyone open access to HCQ and Ivermectin should pay close attention to what’s happening in India right now. While you’re at it, take a look at what’s happening in Israel right now.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. And it’s worth a lot more than a pound when the “cure” isn’t particularly effective in the real world. Magic Internet cure-alls are not something you bet your life on.

“The only treatment that’s been particularly effective so far has been monoclonal antibodies.” Can you please provide link stating this? I think there are studies showing other therapies are effective.
I am not sure what is going on in India...Are we getting the full picture? Do you have the full picture? Unless you are Indian/have relatives there, I doubt it. Truly, I would like an explanation/information—not merely assumptions. And perhaps in my spare time (which is minimal) I will look into this. Is it a different variant than ours? I believe India was going to use their own vaccine. So many questions.
I don’t know that much about the availability of the Z-pack (or whatever the zith, zinc etc. pack is called) in India. However, I do know that it is not the same protocol as Dr. Marik and Dr. Kory are using here...the I-MASK protocol. These docs testified before Senator Johnson’s Homeland Security Committee in an official hearing that they have saved lives using Ivermectin, zinc, D3, C etc. I don’t consider that “Internet cure-alls.”
With all due respect, do we believe you—an internet screen name* or these doctors—some who have testified publicly (available on C-Span)?
I don’t think Dr. Zelenko, Dr. Marik, or Dr. Kory are pushing “internet cure-alls.” They have had first-hand success with their treatments...They and several others are actually practicing doctors who have had success with their protocols...
*and as I have asked previously, what is your expertise?
Frankly, I don’t understand why you and a few others are so determined to push the vaccines...I respect your choice to get the vaccine...I have family and friends who have...and have not—I have known people who were sick with COVID and sick from the vaccine...It is a big decision and an individual one...
Why not let those who want to not be part of the clinical trial wait? It is not so much about what is happening now as what is going to be happening in 6+ months, etc. BTW, my friend’s mother (who is in a nursing home) is already scheduled for her 3rd (booster) shot because they don’t know how long the immunity lasts.
Oh and one more question...You are very pro-vaccines. How do you feel about the vaccination passport...Vax papers?
Thanks... I’m not ready for the second shot.
Unless you have a good reason not to i would probable follow through with it as you went through the trouble to get the first - or at least get your antibodies tested to be sure you got the response you wanted. Talk with your pcp as they know you and your situation.
Thanks for the help. I see my doctor next month anyhow - I’ll talk it over with her too.
