USA Today: Rifles Used in Fed-Ex Attack Were Purchased ‘Legally’

USA Today reports that alleged Fed-Ex attacker Brandon Scott Hole used two rifles to carry out his heinous act and both guns were purchased “legally.”

USA Today notes that Hole purchased one rifle in July 2020 and the other in September 2020.

Breitbart News reported that the March 22, 2021, Boulder attacker bought his gun “legally” too, as did the March 16, 2021, Atlanta-area gunman.

In fact, the overwhelming majority of high profile attackers acquire their guns by complying with background checks, rather than going around them.

Here is a just a partial list of other attackers who got their guns by complying with gun control laws:

Parkland high school attacker (February 14, 2018) Texas church attacker (November 5, 2017) Las Vegas attacker (October 1, 2017) Alexandria attacker (June 14, 2017)) Orlando attacker (June 12, 2016) UCLA gunman (June 1, 2016)) San Bernardino attackers (December 2, 2015) Colorado Springs attacker (October 31, 2015) Umpqua Community College attacker (October 1, 2015) Alison Parker’s attacker (August 26, 2015) Lafayette movie theater attacker (July 23, 2015) Chattanooga attacker (July 16, 2015) Alleged Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal attacker (Jun 17, 2015) Muhammad Carton Contest attackers (May 3, 2014) Las Vegas cop killers (June 9, 2015) Santa Barbara attacker (May 23, 2014) Fort Hood attacker (April 2, 2014) Arapahoe High School attacker (December 13, 2013) D.C. Navy Yard attacker (September 16, 2013) Aurora movie theater attacker (July 20, 2012) Gabby Giffords’ attacker (January 8, 2011) Fort Hood attacker (November 5, 2009) Northern Illinois University attacker (February 14, 2008) Virginia Tech attacker (April 16, 2007).

Yet President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats continue to push background checks as a solution to high profile firearm-related attacks.

Ironic most mass murderer psychopaths are known to the F. I. B as person of interest.

Wonder how a non-employee walks in to a shipping facility with two guns and no one notices?

Post-9/11, security at warehouses was increased significantly to prevent bad things from getting on planes. Ground shipping facilities were also secured.

No offense meant to you... I agree competely. But isn’t interesting how many psychos come out of the woodwork when the Democrats are in gun grabbing mode. I am not sure that it is a coincidence. The ends always justify the means with the left. A few horrific murders would be a small price to pay as far as they are concerned to disarm millions of law abiding citizens who might stand in the way of their dreams of a communist eutopia.

Just because they bought them legally and did these things does NOT mean to take them away from everyone. Or limit magazines or anything else. Concentrate on the people and the mental side of it. Maybe do something with the laws regarding doctors or psychiatrists being able to do something. Heck I don’t know. Maybe just let everyone open carry after 21 years of age.

I notice they want to stop the LEGAL purchase of firearms, but never do anything about the guns sold illegally in inner cities from the trunks of cars.

This is so the “oppressed” will be able to waltz right in and take whatever they want from their “oppressors.”

Interesting true facts: I have been subjected to a “hold” several times when purchasing certain useful objects. I was interviewed - once - by the FBI, in 1993, over a matter unrelated to politics, violence, or firearms.

THIS dude was “known to the FBI” as a potentially dangerous person, and yet, he cleared the process for purchasing useful objects without a problem.

I wonder why?

Stupid propagandist headline.

Virtually all murders or killings are done with legally purchased items. rocks, knives, hammers, pillows and ropes all make that list.

The same sort of thing took place with the perps of the Marjory Stoneman incident in 2018 and the Stockton incident in 1988. They both were well known to the authorities but were still cleared to purchase firearms. The Stockton perp even had certain charges plea bargained away and that apparently helped him even more so clear California’s waiting periods and background checks required at that time.

Some people are just broken and their “normal” is not normal. That does not mean that they will do something outrageous like this, but they will never really fit in.

There are tens of thousands who struggle with the demons of their mothers and fathers or other adults - crack babies, fetal alcohol, marijuana moms, abusive parents, neglectful parents, reactive attachment disorders, meth babies, opiate babies, and molested kids.

There is no easy answer to this. Most of them thankfully overcome the adversity but a few become so twisted that the original sin spills over on many others.

I know many who have overcome these things. We rarely hear anything about them. We do hear about the ones who explode in a huge storm of rage and emptiness on the world around them. There are a lot of these kids in the inner-city who fall into gang life. In large part, due to these problems, they have no little empathy or structure in a violent world. There are kids like this in your community. Just ask foster parents or even some who adopted them and tried with all their heart to make things right.

Tragically, no matter how hard some try or how much love they give, some of them are simply beyond repair. It can challenge your faith in many ways. The left will blame the gun. The right will blame law enforcement as if the justice system can fix this within the parameters of the constitution and courts.

In many cases, but not all, the real blame lies with the parent and the seeds were planted when they were in the womb.

Government cannot fix this. Taking firearms away from tens of thousands who will never do something like this will not fix this. Locking up a thousand people who truly struggle with reality and mental illness to prevent one like this is not the answer.

Given the description and photo along with my life experience and being a foster parent (and adoptive family) I think you are correct. Fetal alcohol syndrome is a real possibility.

Prayers for all of those touched by this evil. There are no words that can fix this kind of hurt.

He may have bought the first one legally but I’m not sure the second one was legal. According to an article I read the shotgun was removed from the house and he was committed to psychiatric evaluation. Unless he already had the other one and they didn’t find it or the eval was done after he purchased the second one he lied on the 4473 form making the second purchase illegal.

Uh, no ‘effing way. Do you have any idea how many doctors/psychiatrists would consider ANYONE who wants a gun to the “mentally ill?”

My approach is both simple and constitutional: Any U.S. citizen who is legally entitled to vote should be allowed to own and carry a firearm.

We don’t arrest and detain law-abiding citizens because of what they “might” do ... so we shouldn’t disarm them or make them get a COVID vaccine, either.
