I’ve been to Japan on biz numerous times. I am certain that the Japanese took His Fraudulency’s conduct as highly offensive - you don’t travel to a valued Ally to meet with the second-in-command; if Trump had called the winner of the Masters, a highly talented adult who won solely on his talents and sweat, “the Japanese boy”, the American “press” would have gone berserk.

My limited experience with the Japanese is that they keep track of these kinds of things. They, along with the whole world, except those who get their information from the American media, know that Biden is a cipher—he’s really not there. The fact that who ever is really in charge sent out Harris in his place was either sending a pointed message to Japan or that Biden was ‘indisposed’. Neither is a good message.

I had to look it up to see who referred to the Masters’ winner as a “Japanese boy”. It was Biden! How does he such such a pass?

Also, it looks like Biden did eventually meet with Prime Minister Suga in a Rose Garden press conference, which is when Xiden offered his verbal faux pas.

Standard response; Oh, that is just Joe.

My understanding of Japanese is such that I know being socially snubbed in public, disrespected, or losing face is considered extremely rude in Japanese culture and when done deliberately is long remembered and not for given.
