Loser right?
He’s a good as they come, he did a great job as governor and would do NC well in the US Senate.
Doesn’t Lara Trump lead in early polling for this Senate seat?
Rush Limbaugh used to say he could never be elected to public office because he had said so many things on the radio that opponents could plaster all over in ads that would be taken entirely out of context. As usual, Rush was right.
I know nothing of McCrory but if he becomes the nominee, be prepared for a non-stop media hatchet job where every last little jab or joke that could be taken out of context will be blown into a huge scandal.
Mcory already lost reelction as governor. We cannot afford someone who would lose the Senate seat.
An article from a couple days ago...
From what I know of him, he’s a “nice guy”. He’d be turned to the dark side faster than Anakin Skywalker.
Just say no!
I don’t know a North Carolinian who likes him. PS- We don’t like Tillis either.
Some thoughts:
1) Governor McCrory lost his reelection for governor for three reasons. First, the national media uproar over allowing trannies into women’s restrooms. McCrory supported NC law limiting access to women’s restrooms to women. Second, he supported funding the widening of Interstate 77 north of Charlotte by entering into a multi decade with a foreign company to widen the highway and collect tolls. Comparing the votes in the counties along the interstate to his first run for governor, the shift in votes more than exceeded the margin of his loss. It was an extremely stupid move. Third, the Democrat Roy Cooper had a huge out of state war chest and was constantly on the attack — he controlled the agenda of the campaign. McCrory played defense throughout the campaign, he was either unable or unwilling to take his gloves off and really fight his opponent
2) McCrory did interview with Trump for a job in the Trump administration. He was not hired.

3) He personality is nice guy, country club, “let’s all get along”, Republican like Richard Burr, George W. Bush, Paul Ryan.
McCrory, if elected, will be at best a moderate establishment Republican. He is not a conservative ideologue. He will fit into the Senate club and play the role given to him by the party. Like Burr and Tillis.
However, if McCrory is the GOP nominee, and his opponent is Democrat Governor Roy Cooper, McCrory will lose. Cooper is popular, and just won reelection by a decent 51.5% to 47% margin (4.5 percentage points). Cooper will fight to win and will have the backing of the state media and a huge war chest as the Dems will view this as an easy seat to pick up. McCrory has not demonstrated toughness so expect Cooper to define the issues and be constantly on the attack.
I used to like McCrory but now I don’t want him in political office. He will be a Senator like Thom Tillis and Richard Burr.
