President Joe Biden is expected to announce on Wednesday that the U.S. will finish the full withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, 2021, according to people familiar with the plans who spoke with the Washington Post.
The reported troop drawdown timeline would see the Biden administration miss a May 1 Afghanistan withdrawal deadline set forth by President Donald Trump’s administration in the February 2020 U.S.-Taliban peace agreement. The Biden administration’s plans will instead see the U.S. pull out from Afghanistan by the 20-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda terror attacks, which set off the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and the wider Global War on Terror.
On Wednesday, the Taliban launched a rocket attack targeting a U.S. base in Kandahar. While the rockets fell outside of the U.S. base and caused no casualties, the Taliban has warned that it would resume attacks against U.S. forces if the Biden administration misses the May 1 deadline.

They are going to do their darndest to keep Biden in office for two years and a day so that Harris can have two full terms.

Under President Trump’s agreement, yes. But now, not so much.
I don’t think Harris will be able to win two terms. Her likeability is low and I don’t see it improving. Maybe something like surviving a bout of cancer would help. It is sad to say, but I could see them faking the cancer.
Also, I can’t imagine what she will look like in ten years. Plastic surgery was able to cover up a lot for Hillary (and a compliant press). Was not able to help Arnold’s ex wife look. Ditto Carolyn Kennedy. They can’t seem fix a face structured like Cruella De Vil.

But Uncle Joe had some appeal. Harris was dead last in the Democrat primary and there were some real losers ahead of her.
Yes, I just thought it was interesting how that whole thing was worded. Instead of saying something about “Biden is actually extending the leave date to September, instead of the current May exit date, established by the last administration.”
I don’t know that they are worried about electability any more.
