This is all going to go and go quickly.

I don’t think a WWI situation is likely (I don’t see any WWII parallel) but I think we could see Russia move on Ukraine, China move on Taiwan, Iran move in Syria and God knows who move somewhere else.

I do not think the US will take action everywhere — that’s not possible,. In fact, I think the US will freeze and do absolutely nothing. And that’s probably the best choice. But the world isn’t getting better.

This will be our Suez Crisis moment when people all around the world look at us and shrug and say, “I thought they were a major power. But I guess they’re not anymore.”

You may well be describing a defining moment for our country and I think your scenario is likely.

I’ve been following the Ukraine developments closely. Nordstream 2 is a big and fascinating part of this geopolitical chess game. That said, what’s happening in the region will not be isolated; it have reverberations around the globe, that’s for sure.

Yup—If China, Russia and Iran were smart they would act in unison to achieve whatever objectives they may have—they have the weakest US President ever—they may not get another chance like this.
