Biden Appoints Court-Packing Commission – Puts Conservative Supreme Court Justices In His Sights
Legal Insurrection ^ | 04/09/2021 | Mary Chastain

President Joe Biden will sign an executive order to form a commission to study expanding the Supreme Court and other possible changes.

The White House statement claims the commission has “a bipartisan group of experts on the Court and the Court reform debate.”

The commission includes Russia Collusion hoax nutter Laurence Tribe. Even BuzzFeed News laughed at him.

It is no secret the left wants to pack the court and change other parts in order to make sure everything goes their way. They lost their minds when Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. Then-President Donald Trump had the nerve to do his job and nominate someone to the court. He dared to nominate a conservative Catholic female!

It got scary, though, when the left changed the definition of “court-packing.” The left has a tendency to change definitions and people just go with it.

Court-Packing means putting more than nine justices on the court. The left now says “court-packing” means stuffing it with conservatives.

It’s so out of hand that Harvard Political Review published a piece that claimed Republicans already packed the court so Democrats should do it, too.

I’m glad the ranking Republican in the Senate is a tough fighter for our side... Wait.

Well, wait and see what happens.

Mitch McConnell fought intense pressure to keep the vacancy when Justice Scalia died, so that Trump could fill that vacancy. And he was instrumental is helping fill hundreds of lower court vacancies in the federal courts.

Maybe off topic, but I think we need a scorecard, or running totals of positive things various political leaders have done, vs. the negative things they have done.

I know McConnell has disappointed many here on various issues. I have seen disapproval of virtually every Republican/conservative on this site, even Donald Trump. If we take the position that anyone who has ever disappointed us on any issue, is no better than the radical Democrats, then who is left?

Flame away. Go for it.

When Republican Ronald Reagan was president in 1983, then-Senator Joe Biden (D-Delaware) declared the concept of court-packing a “bonehead idea” and a “terrible, terrible mistake.”

The demented one obviously considering himself a bonehead. I doubt you could find many that wouldn’t agree.

Absolutely zero chance. Short of door to door gun confiscation or cessation of entitlement payments, there is zero chance of a "hot" civil war in this generation or the next.

If there was even the inkling of a chance, you would see it after say a stolen election, if enough people actually believed that happened.

They will never get 60 votes to get this to the floor of the Senate.

There are no favors to Conservatives who help Dems win. By SCOTUS not taking the fraud cases, perhaps they thought they’d be in good favor. Think again!

The fact that Biden called for a “commission” shows he is trying to evade the issue.

The Commission has 180 days from its start date to come back with their “recommendations”. That might take to the end of the year. Can’t see this as a winning issue for the 2022 mid-terms. But with the current GOP who knows?

I think the “commission” idea, will be used to give “political cover” to Democrats in Congress to pass the legislation needed to make changes.

They will say, “hey, we’re just following the recommendations of experts on this non-partisan commission” to reform the federal judiciary. They will claim it’s not a “Democrat” issue but a non-partisan, “reform” or “streamline” effort to make the federal courts work more efficiently.

And that got us what? Basically nothing. Those judges were confirmed to support K Street corporate lobbyists and not Main Street USA voters.

SCOTUS had the chance to save our republic but chose not to do it. Now the conservatives for whom we fought so hard will become irrelevant.

This is Biden’s way of doing nothing. All the court packing talk is GOTV red meat for both parties. Dems don’t need it, anyway. They win nearly all the big cases.

The ironic thing about all of this is that despite Republicans nominating 6 of the current justices, we don’t have what you could call a conservative supreme court. You only have two, Thomas and Alito, who are proven rock-solid conservative jurists. Roberts is weak/compromised. The jury is still out on Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett, but there is definite cause for concern.

They may say that.

Almost no one would believe it.

They had a much better chance of pushing this through last month.

Obama and Soros need to be stopped from ruining our country.

I suspect they’re the puppeteers.
