It’s a bogus issue. Winston Churchill was arguably prejudiced against the Chinese. He refused to meet with Chang Kai Shek and his wife. And he saved the world from the biggest racists of them all, the Nazis, by taking a stand against impossible odds. Harry Truman was definitely a racist and an anti-Semite socially, but he integrated the military and recognized the State of Israel against the express advice of the State Department. “By their fruits shall you know them” may be from the New Testament, but it’s a wisdom rooted in the Torah, too. Churchill was a racist - racist to pretty much any non-Anglo-Saxon.
He also participated in the Boer war which set up concentration camps that killed many Boers.
Churchill was also responsible for the debacle that was Gallipolli - instead of attacking at Antalya which could have resulted in far less Entente lives lost.
However Churchill was the right man for the UK for the years 1940 to 1945.
He was a bad peace-time leader but a good war time leader.
