I have no idea how they will possibly be able to enforce that.

In the state of Washington if you pass a firearm to anyone even a family member it’s an illegal transfer of a firearm. So in deference to how you were raised, that’s the law here right now; not even at a gun show are you allowed to handle a firearm. The idiots in Olympia (state capitol) passed this idiotic law.

Yet Illinois politicians will complain the guns are coming in from gun shows in neighboring states. Nonsense, and a racist comment. I peruse gun shows in Wisconsin, there are blacks there, Asians, all kinds of folk, race and religion. And yes, there are usually a few tables of private sales that don't require a NICS check. They aren't swarmed with gang bangers. Maybe the boys from the south side are in white face, I don't know, maybe I don't recognize them. No matter, from a law enforcement perspective any Illinois resident purchasing a handgun, they're the inner city killers not assaulting rifles, is a felon. Handguns can be purchased in your state of residence, only, under federal law. To my knowledge there's no "gun show loophole" on that.
I support reasonable gun laws, not "reasonable" to liberals perhaps, but I support some restrictions. But I only support laws important enough to be enforced.
Arrest Hunter. And his paramor/SIL who threw a lethal weapon in the garbage across from a High School for a homeless man to find. Short of that, laws don't matter if unenforced on the elite.

That’s what they mean. They’re just trying to demonize gun shows. Plenty of folks walk around at shows with rifles slung over their shoulders, with a price tag on the rifle.
They want the de facto registration that comes with ending private sales.
When they talk about "gun show loophole", what they are really talking about is private sales (whether or not at a show). They want to he able to ban private transfers, even between family members.
The reason is that a well maintained gun can last for decades. Once it passes from the original owner via private sale, there is no longer a database record to facilitate confiscation.
You know better than that: An FLA dealer is certified to sell to anybody without a background check as long as both are illegal residents of Florida and Louisiana.

There are plenty of firearms now well over a century old that still work like 1911’s although those older ones probably function preferably with ball ammo. Still a .45 acp ball is no pea shooter round.
