Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), one of only 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump this year, recently told the Atlantic why he remains committed to the party: “I’m a Republican because I’ve been a Republican far longer than Donald Trump has. He’s a Republican usurper.… I’m not going to let him take the party. So I will fight. I will fight like hell.”
It is a decision I have not for a moment regretted, because the GOP has become even more of a horror show than I anticipated. As former House speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) notes in a new memoir, the “crazies” have taken over. There are vanishingly few John McCain-style Republicans left; Kinzinger (a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard) is one of the few. The party’s center of gravity has shifted to kooks such as Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (who blamed Jewish space lasers for wildfires) and low-rent hucksters such as Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (who reportedly shared nude photos of his sexual conquests with his colleagues and is under investigation for possible sex trafficking).

So we have a two-front war on our hands. Which front do we emphasize first? Trump overcame the Democrats and was done in by the RINOs. That would make it evident that we need to politically annihilate the Trump-bashers in the GOP first, whatever it takes short of violence, and only when we have a unified MAGA GOP take on the Marxists as a unit—they’ll still be around then.

If he hasn’t voted for a Republican who has won the white house since 2004 I don’t think he can claim to be “A Republican” especially with Trump winning in 2016 and getting more votes than any candidate in history in 2020.
Did he sit out 2016 and 2020, vote third party, or vote for the Democrats?

What most GOP fans here do not grasp is that “real conservatives” are about 30% of the population (if that) and, if the country is going to be saved, real conservatives have to form working coalitions with patriotic Democrats who believe in God, nation, unions, and health care.
Every time I post this I get tons of abuse. But the alternative, if you can’t stomach Southern Democrats or Scoop Jackson Democrats, is coalition with Neocon RINOs who have made tremendous progress towards their goal of destroying the nation and enriching their donors.
