Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick slammed American Airlines on Thursday evening after the airline called out the state’s new security measures to protect elections, claiming that a representative from the company called him and told him that the head of the company didn’t even read the bill.
“Earlier this morning, the Texas State Senate passed legislation with provisions that limit voting access,” American Airlines said in a statement that echoed remarks made by leftists who have attacked recent measures to secure elections across the country. “To make American’s stance clear: We are strongly opposed to this bill and others like it.”
“Any legislation dealing with how elections are conducted must ensure ballot integrity and security while making it easier to vote, not harder,” the company said at the end of their statement. “At American, we believe we should break down barriers to diversity, equity and inclusion in our society – not create them.”
Patrick fired back in a statement shortly after American Airlines released their statement.
“As Lt. Governor of Texas, I am stunned that American Airlines would put out a statement saying ‘we are strongly opposed to this bill’ [Senate Bill 7] just minutes after their government relations representative called my office and admitted that neither he nor the American Airlines CEO had actually read the legislation,” Patrick said. “We heard these same outcries claiming voter suppression in 2011 when Texas passed the photo voter ID bill. In fact, just the opposite occurred. Voter turnout in Texas soared from 7,993,851 in 2012 to 11,144,040 in 2020, a 39 percent increase. Gubernatorial election voter turnout has increased by 76 percent since photo voter ID was passed.”

Texas Lt. Gov. On American Airlines Condemning New Law: They ‘Admitted’ CEO Didn’t Even Read It!
Sounds like the CEO might be a freeper!
Makes sense to me, I’m more inclined to vote in a fair election than not
Illiteracy takes many forms.
Reading is an excessive exercise of White Privilege and Systemic Racism.
MLB pulled the All-Star game. Yet another sport to add to the list.
Un-American Airlines is racist. They require passengers present a photo ID before boarding.
The Democrats botched their own primary. Situation normal, all fouled up.
Defund MLB NFL and the rest. No more taxpayer subsidized stadiums or special game bids.
American Airlines, like every single other corporation and large company has been infested at the top in HR, Marketing and public relations with DEI shakedown artist scum.
Why does American Airlines and Delta limit access to people who just eant to go see their brown loved ones on a plane? They make them present expensive and hard to get IDs, go throigh scanners, take their shoes off, pay fees to check on luggage. Barbaric!
Personally, but with no proof, I think these “woke” CEOs are Democrats who are just pushing the Democrat agenda and propaganda but trying to be seen as just concered citizens. That is the way Democrats do things.
Grampa Dave : "Sounds like the CEO might be a freeper! "
I saw what you did there, Grampa Dave, and it sounded like a back-handed compliment to other FReepers.
Cute !
They want their golden parachutes and fear the predator media will put pressure on them. THE MEDIA is what they fear more than us...or even loss of sales.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Let’s hope he uses the day’s other chance as wisely.
of course not.
How many other things has the CEO of American Airlines acted on without reading? Safety reports? Inspection reports? Financial statements? Union contract negotiations?
i guess AA doesn’t require id to fly then, wait...
