A California based woman director for our parent company, ITT was lecturing us at a meeting that she would give an ex-con a job over anyone else, “because he deserved a break.” I asked, “what about the young father of two who has never broken a single law? Doesn’t he deserve a break too?” She darkened and looked angry. I got kicked under the table by our VP. He told me later, if you want a job, don’t poke the tiger.
