Maybe what Amtrak needs to do is just run specials from the open border to all the red states that the Junta wants to infect and turn in Blue strongholds. That would save a lot of time and the packed cars could be used to make sure everyone is infected.

There are no passenger trains operated by the private sector in this country, and nowadays there are no domestic locomotive or railcar manufacturers either; Amtrak’s new electric and diesel locomotives are built by Siemens.
