The federal investigation into Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz is focused on allegations that the junior congressman had a sexual relationship with at least one minor, and is scrutinizing the Republican's conduct not only in Florida but in other states too, three sources familiar with the investigation tell ABC News.
The investigation, first reported by the New York Times Tuesday and confirmed by ABC News, has sent shockwaves through Republican circles, particularly among close associates of former President Donald Trump, who considered Gaetz a staunch ally and loyal friend.

Certainly. But the first step in not letting the deep state take you down is don’t sleep with underaged kids. Amazingly hard to blackmail folks who don’t have skeletons in their closets...
I could be wrong, but I think they have absolutely no evidence at all. But I don't think they care.
Republicans get thrown out of Congress for just being accused of this kind of behavior, while Democtats who are acutual pedophiles get promoted....

You have to remember. The FBI stopped being law enforcement and became a state terror organization suppressing freedom going back to Bush I and Clinton. Obama just finished the job his predecessors began.

Gaetz responded to this today. Basically, he said that a former member of the Justice Department tried to blackmail him though his Dad. Gaetz and his family went to the local FBI in Florida. They had his Father wear a wire and he recorded the guy doing it.
According to Gaetz, the leak of this story was to get ahead of what the tapes will show.
The deep staters don’t give two shits whether the accusations are valid... they only care whether they’re EFFECTIVE.

I guess you’re in the “It’s the seriousness of the charge, not whether it’s true” crowd. Maybe...just maybe... it would be wise to await ACTUAL DOCUMENTED FACTS? But that’s just me.

His use of the word "relationship" was oddly specific. And in the same interview Gaetz claimed he had gone on a double date with the 17 year old "woman" and Tucker. I believe Gaetz was being blackmailed - but he also had something going on with an underaged kid.
No, he specifically denied it, if "it" is a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old. However, he said nothing about relationships with young women of other ages, and he should have.
I 100% believe he was being blackmailed. But the reason he was blackmailed was because he’d slept with a 17 year old. Much harder to blackmail the innocent.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but even if this is true, it would be icky and morally wrong, but not illegal if we’re talking about a 17 year old right? Based on age of consent? The real scandal would still be the blackmail.
