Assigned female at birth? They make it sound as if such an “assignment” is an arbitrary designation, and that we as a society are denying the gender identity possibilities as that baby grows up.

I would suggest that the doctor who completes the Birth Certificate checks Female or Male meaning that the state will rely on the “assignment” made someone actually trained to make the determination of gender rather than some woke lesbian mother.

That is because that is what they believe. They believe that sex is arbitrary. It is not. Push back, push back HARD on this word "assignment". Always say, no, I was Born female or male, I was not "assigned".
